LINANGAN: GE Faculty Development Extension Program

LINANGAN: General Education (GE) Faculty Development Extension Program 2021-2022 is a webinar series for GE faculty of state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs) and UP constituent universities (CUs). It aims to further enhance the teaching and learning of general education by creating spaces for teachers’ conversations which will facilitate exchanges about content, teaching methods, classroom management and learning resources under remote and blended/flexible learning mode.

The series will help faculty respond to the changing conditions brought by the health, environment, and economic crises. It will be course-based to cater to the common interest and experience of the attendees.

GEC acknowledges the Office of the Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Diliman, through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (OVCRD), for funding support through the UP Diliman Extension Grant.

Objectives of the Program

1. To share to faculty of state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local colleges and universities (LUCs) how UP Diliman faculty handled their GE classes under the remote teaching and learning set-up

2. To provide an avenue for university and college teachers to exchange and learn best practices on teaching and managing their remote classroom

3. To prepare the GE faculty for the eventual shift to blended learning

4. To produce learning resources which will be accessible to GE faculty of the different CUs, LUCs and SUCs

5. To promote gender-sensitivity, health, safety and well-being concerns of the faculty during remote and blended learning
