The General Education Center (GEC) met with College of General Education, Management, and Sciences Dean Rommy J Mohammad Nalang and General Education Department Program Chairperson Amiel Isaac Del Rosario from the Davao Doctors College (DDC) in a benchmarking visit on 27 July 2023 to share best practices and innovative educational strategies that they may apply in their educational system and support their commitment to “continually improve [DDC’s] general education program”.
As Chairperson Del Rosario said, “sharing ideas and experiences will not only benefit our institution but will also foster collaboration and elevate the quality of education in the broader academic community.”
Aside from best practices, the DDC were particularly interested to learn and gain insights about innovative teaching methodologies, student engagement techniques, curriculum designs, assessment strategies, and other “exceptional educational standards” that the GEC adheres to. They also had the opportunity to visit and observe a Pan Pil 19 (Sexwalidad, Kasarian at Panitikan) class in the College of Arts and Letters.
