The former General Education Center (GEC) Director, Dr. Nancy Kimuell-Gabriel, served as a resource speaker at the 1st UPLB General Education Planning Workshop entitled “Dalub-Turuan: Dalubhasaan sa Pagtuturo ng GE sa UPLB; Guro sa Kapwa Guro,” held on August 22–24, 2024, at Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay City. She presented on the topic “Best Practices in Teaching GE” on 22 August 2024.
The workshop was conducted by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through the UPLB General Education Program Office. It aimed to retool and reskill GE faculty members and to reassess and recast teaching strategies and practices to address the challenges posed by transitions towards blended education.
With this workshop, the GEC maintains its dedication to champion the UP General Education Program towards “liberal, holistic, critical, humanist, creative and transformative education, with a commitment to excellence, sustainability and pro-people innovations for the improvement of our society.”
