Last 9 December 2022, the General Education Center (GEC) met Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) – Mid La Union Campus at the Diliman Interactive Learning Center Conference Room for a benchmarking visit centered on identifying new developments and best practices in teaching, research, extension services, and quality assurance standards.
The GEC Director Dr. Nancy Kimuell-Gabriel and staff, along with representatives from the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and UP Diliman’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, received DMMMSU – Mid La Union Campus’ Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Dr. Hartwell Norman Merza and Chairpersons Dr. Dulce Rodrigues (BA in Political Science), Dr. Dinarose Budeng (BA in English Language), Prof. Charity Madayag (Batsilyer ng Sining sa Filipino), Prof. Renz Arvin Dumaguin (BS Psychology), and Prof. Benedick Adrian Flores (General Education).
Also coming from DMMMSU – Mid La Union Campus were Facilitators Dr. Fely Rose Manaois (Quality Assurance), Prof. Fritz Krieg Allawey (Instruction), Engr. Dodilyn Bermudez (Research), and Prof. Maria Remedios Lewis (Extension).
The visit focused on introducing GEC and its threefold mandate to uphold the GE Program, along with outlining its involvement in the 2021 Baon-Bidahan and 2022 System GE Conferences, assistance to students and academic units, research projects, and the 2021-2022 LINANGAN Webinars as its public service initiative.
