LINANGAN: The GE Faculty Development Extension Program 2024

LINANGAN: The General Education (GE) Faculty Development Extension Program 2024 is a webinar series for GE faculty of UP constituent universities (CUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs), and private higher-education institutions (HEIs). It is a continuation of the previous LINANGAN program, building upon its success and reach. By continuing LINANGAN, the GEC aims to further enhance the teaching and learning of general education by creating a space for sharing and exchanging the teaching methods and techniques utilized by UP Diliman GE faculty to integrate pressing contemporary issues such as artificial intelligence, gender mainstreaming, critical production/consumption of information, and disaster risk management into their respective courses. LINANGAN shall run from April 2024 to February 2025.

The primary objective of the project is to promote the integration of the responsible use of artificial intelligence, gender sensitivity, critical production and consumption of news, and disaster risk management in the pedagogy of general education courses.

Meanwhile, its specific objectives include the following:

  1. To share with faculty of state universities and colleges (SUCs), local colleges and universities (LUCs), and private higher-education institutions (HEIs) how UP Diliman GE faculty incorporate issues like responsible use of artificial intelligence, gender sensitivity, critical production and consumption of news, and disaster risk management.
  2. To provide a platform for university and college teachers to exchange and learn best practices on guiding students to becoming responsible users of artificial intelligence, gender-sensitive members of society, critical producers and consumers of news, and resilient individuals.
  3. To produce learning resources which will be accessible to GE faculty of the different CUs, LUCs, SUCs and private HEIs.
